Lord of the Rings: The Rings Of Power, The Most Expensive Series In History 

The first trailer for Amazon’s highly anticipated TV series “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” has been released.

The first season cost $ 465 million, making it the most costly TV series ever. The sum does, however, include significant one-time start-up costs such as getting the rights to JRR Tolkien’s creation, set design, costuming, props, and other fees. The show will last for 50 hours and will be divided into five seasons.

The Rings of Power follows the development of the first power rings during the Second Age, which allowed Dark Lord Sauron to spread darkness across Middle-earth. Thousands of years before Peter Jackson’s “Lord of the Rings” series action takes place. According to a Hollywood source, the trailer features young versions of two well-known elven characters from Jackson’s movies, Galadriel (Morfydd Clark) and Elrond (Robert Aramayo) as well as new characters for the series. As dwarf princess Disa (Sophia Nomvete) and elf Arondir (Ismael Cruz Córdova).

According to a recent production article released by Vanity Fair, two main categories of characters in “Lord Of The Rings” were mostly eliminated from the series: Hobbits and Wizards, which were not essential in the Second Age.

According to a press release: “The full title of the series promises an epic plot, which revolves around the important events that occur during the second era: the development of symbol rings.”

“It’s a title we can imagine on the front of a JRR Tolkien’s book along with his other great works.”

According to showrunners Patrick McKay and JD Payne “All the main key threads of the Middle Ages are brought together in The Rings of Power: the creation of the rings, Sauron’s ascension as Lord of Darkness, the epic story of Númenor, and the last union of elves and humans.”

The Most Expensive Series In History

The series will begin in a period of “relative peace” and will feature a group of well-known characters as well as new ones, “as they face the much-feared return of evil to Middle-earth.” The four corners of Tolkien’s imaginary world is where the plot takes place, especially on the island of Númenor, mentioned in The Lord of the Rings.

The majority of the filming took place in New Zealand. Then, in the autumn of last year, it was revealed that production will be moved to the United Kingdom.

The series “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on 2 September 2022 and will broadcast in 240 territories around the world. New episodes to be released every week after airing.
