Dragon Ball Super Transformation Of Gohan Into A Superhero

Gohan undergoes a powerful new transformation in Dragon Ball Super: Superhero after the Cell Saga, Gohan’s power level remained constant and he went from being the strongest Z-Warrior in the anime to a character who faced Captain Ginyu in Dragon Ball Super. Recent events, however, have resurrected Gohan as a force of nature to be reckoned with again.

Gohan is set to take center stage in the new Dragon Ball Super movie, following an amazing performance in the Tournament of Power that helped restore his character’s lost reputation. Surprisingly, the franchise is temporarily moving away from Goku and Vegeta in favor of Gohan and Piccolo, who will lead the battle against the Red Ribbon Army. While Goku is busy training with Broly on Beerus’ planet, Gohan, Piccolo, Goten, and Trunks will be forced to battle with Gamma 1 and Gamma 2 androids alone. For the time being, it remains to be seen if the Z-Warriors will be able to survive without Goku’s assistance. It’s possible that Gohan’s powers will determine whether or not they can prevail without him.

Gohan’s chances of getting a new transformation for his struggle against the Red Ribbon Army Androids have increased dramatically according to a new trailer for Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero. Gohan appears in a cutscene in a power-up stance, similar to how characters like Goku, Vegeta, and Future Trunks usually acquire new transformations. The energy that surrounds Gohan when he yells is definitely designed to give the Z-Warrior a big improvement. The intensity of what Gohan is going through in this scene isn’t required for him to become Super Saiyan 2 (which he already is), nor is it required for him to achieve his Ultimate state, which he has a lot of experience with. Instead, it appears Dragon Ball Super is building hype towards a new transformation.

It wouldn’t be surprising if the franchise took a similar route with Gohan. When Gohan was training for the Tournament of Power, the series began setting the groundwork for him to attain a new form. He promised Goku that he would pursue “an ultimate form that no other Saiyan has ever achieved”. In Dragon Ball Super, he didn’t get to that degree in his confrontations with Dyspo or Toppo but he may ultimately get there when he faces the Red Ribbon Army warriors in Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero. The movie can finish the Dragon Ball Super build-up by giving Gohan a new transformation, allowing him to fulfill his pledge to one day earn the power needed to protect his family.

If Gohan does transform, it will most likely happen in the movie’s final scene, after the antagonists have been defeated. It’s unclear what the form it would be but thanks to Dragon Ball Z, there’s precedent for Gohan gaining access to a form that’s unlike anything Goku or Vegeta has ever used. Gohan can undergo a transformation never seen before in Dragon Ball Super: Superhero and use that power to save the world, just like he did when he was the first character to discover Super Saiyan 2.
